07/13/21: Steve Silver's Success with his New MPD System
Steve Silver has been putting together a great season already after switching over to an MPD Restrictor Plate system earlier this year. He came out swinging at the 11th Annual Yellow Bullet Nationals in May this year. He qualified in the top half of the difficult ladder and continued to dial in great, consistent passes deep in the 8.50s with his new MPD System. In the final, he laid down a .001 reaction time to take home the win at the Holy Grail of 8.50 Index Racing and become a Yellow Bullet Champion.
To follow up that impressive win, he then went on to finish 2nd in the June Strange Engineering Outlaw Street Car Shootout for 8.50 index. These two events have placed him near the top of the Cecil County Dragway Points Standings for 2021, with a few more events to go for the year.

11/16/20: Back-To-Back! 8.50 Index Champions!
The second season utilizing a MarkoPerformanceDesign Restrictor Plate System has concluded and we are happy to announce another 8.50 Index Track Championship at Cecil County Dragway’s Strange Engineering – Street Car Shootout! Winning the season in itself is incredibly difficult with the fierce competition, but to do it two years in a row is unheard of. The team showed that consistency is key, by seeing four Semi-Finals, a Final and a Quarter-Final in the six weekend events in 2020! Well done!
In a statement after the final event, MPD founder, Brian Marko, had the following to say:
“To win the 8.50 championship is tough enough. To go back to back is another thing. Crystal and I could not have done it alone. A big thanks to my brother and his family for their help. While we enjoy the racing, it's really the friendships we make along the way that make this sport so awesome. The competition in this class is unreal and it keeps pushing us to meet the challenge. God Bless everyone during the upcoming holidays and we'll see you next year.”
11/03/19: 8.50 Index Season Championship!
After a great season filled with excitement, we are pleased to announce that Team MPD has won the 2019 Strange Engineering Outlaw Shootout 8.50 Index Championship!
The team took home three wins and a runner-up this season on the way to the top of the points ranking at Cecil County Dragway. We could not be more proud of all friends and family which have made this season possible. Thank you all and we look forward to the first passes of 2020 in just a few months!
09/22/19: Shakedown Nationals Win!
Team MPD has taken home the win at Virginia Motorsports Park this past weekend in the 8.50 Index class at the 2019 Shakedown Nationals!
The 17th Annual Shakedown Nationals found a new home at Virgnia Motorsports Park this year and with it, introduced the 8.50 Index Class. The MPD team traveled down to support and participate in the class and are happy to report that we returned North win a class win! The venue was fantastic and we are looking forward to 2020!
04/08/19: 4500 Dominator Plate System!
We are proud to announce the release of our 4500 Dominator Plate System!
Throughout the past few years, we have noticed a need for a more precision restrictor plate system. Although our race team was very successful last year, there was a desire to pursue tighter E.T. groupings and more consistent changes from plate to plate. Over the winter, we worked tirelessly to turn the concept of a CNC precision machined modular plate system into a design and ultimately the product which we are launching today.
We are thrilled to report that the first time using the MarkoPerformanceDesign system resulted in a win at Cecil County Dragway's STRANGE Engineering Street Car Shootout! We hope that this is only the beginning for not only the success of the race team, but for MarkoPerformanceDesign as well.
